The pearl consists of Mediterranean-style yacht-lined marinas, residential towers, villas, and Venice-themed residentials and hotels.

In addition, the Island is known for its pedestrian-friendly squares and plazas, its wide variety of planted gardens, and its trendy dining locations, which offer anything from refreshing ice cream to five-star gourmet experiences.

The name “The Pearl” was chosen because Qatar was a significant pearl trader before petroleum became its primary business. The Island resembles a string of pearls to celebrate the country’s pearling past.
