The Katara cultural village is Qatar’s most ambitious and comprehensive multicultural project.

01 KATARA MOSQUE

The katara mosque was designed by Zainab Fadil Oglu, a female architect from Turkey. Katara mosque is an architectural marvel. Both Persian and Turkish architectural styles can be seen throughout the mosque.

The external walls are covered in blue and gold tiles, and a team of specialists from Dolma palace in Istanbul was responsible for decorating the interior and exterior of the building.

The prayer niche (mihrab) and minaret dome were designed with several well-known mosques from around the Muslim world, serving as inspiration.
